About this Coffee

Peaberry’s round shape — versus the flat face of regular coffee beans — is a significant advantage for home roasting. In a drum or air roaster, round beans tumble and rotate freely, absorbing heat from all sides simultaneously. The result is unusually even roasting without the hot-spot risk that plagues irregular flat-bean lots.

We sort peaberries by hand from our S795 harvest — a labour-intensive step that adds cost but ensures the size and density consistency that makes these beans roast so predictably. For home roasters building their skills, peaberry green beans are the ideal practice material.

The flavour potential is exceptional: at light or medium roast, the concentrated nutrients of the single-seed cherry produce a cup noticeably more vivid and sweet than comparable flat-bean lots.
