About this Coffee

Chicory has a long history in South Indian filter coffee and we respect it — but some drinkers prefer the pure estate character without the bitter-earthy addition. This pure filter roast delivers exactly that: 100% S795 Arabica from our Pollibetta estate, dark-roasted to filter darkness, ground for the traditional steel filter.

Without chicory, the decoction is slightly lighter in colour but more complex in aroma. The S795 variety at dark roast produces a bittersweet cup with caramel undertones that is still entirely satisfying in the traditional milk-and-sugar format.

A growing number of South Indian households are switching to pure filter — if you haven’t tried it, this 250g is the ideal way to find out which camp you’re in.

The 80:20 blend is the perfect chicory ratio

Getting the chicory ratio right in a filter blend is an art. Too much and the bitterness overwhelms; too little and the decoction lacks body. Kynetra’s 80:20 blend hits the sweet spot — the chicory adds structure and helps the decoction flow thick from the filter without making the cup medicinal. My mother-in-law, who has been drinking filter coffee for sixty years, approved on the first cup.
